Do Anti-Mormon protestors still protest at General Conferenc?
This is my first year going, and I hear that there are tons of protestors outside the gates around Temple Square that shout and hold signs. But, I also heard that the Church bought Temple Square, and now they are not allowed to be in Temple Square! I just wanted to know, if either one of these was true.
Yes they are definitely still there. I went to General Conference live four times last year and every time they were out there. Usually there are around 10 or so. They carry these big signs and generally make fools of themselves. Security surrounds them to make sure nothing gets out of hand and usually most people just ignore them. Also, groups of people sometimes line the sidewalks singing hymns to block out all there racket. I also saw mock-protesters who would parody the real guys, that was funny. The best thing to do is just ignore them and enjoy conference. You will love it!
