Anyone know anything about Field Marshal Rommel, during WW2?
I read today that he was a national hero before he was accused of conspiracy against Hitler. Offered the chance to kill himself and save his family rather than being held, he took his own life. He then had the funeral of a hero. My question is: If he was allegedly plotting against Hitler why he was allowed such a big farewell?
First Rommel was a hero because many missions exploits and victories. Hitler needed a national hero both because people beginning to think that all was lost and he needed time and a psychological advantage to avoid more trouble.
