Under normal circumstances, how many times does a Mormon need a Temple Recommend to visit a Temple?

I understand that to get a temple recommend, you need to convince your Bishop that you pay the Church 10%. So let us assume that every time you wish to visit the Temple, THAT year you tithe. Years that you do NOT need a Temple Recommend, you DON'T tithe. So how many times in a Mormon's life is it ABSOLUTELY necessary to visit a Temple and get that Temple Recommend?

You need one to be married in the temple. You must have tithed for a year before marriage.

The other times it will be obvious you don't have one is other people's marriages. If your wife's sister marries in the temple for example, people will notice that you aren't worthy to attend the temple wedding.

If your own children marry in the temple, you can't attend their weddings without paying tithing for a year and getting a recommend. On occasion, a Bishop will require more than a years back tithing for that recommend when he knows you are desperate.

Temple attendance on a regular basis is pretty low in most areas. Many people never go between weddings, so you can kind of fade into the background then. Many temples have very limited hours of operation.
