How do you change medicare from another state?
Iam moving a parent from another state who needs medical attention as soon as he gets here. Is it easy to change medicare from state to state?
Medicare is a federal program; you do not need to do anything other than submit the new address to Medicare. If he has a Medicare Supplement that plan will go with him, again just a change of address. If he has a Medicare Advantage plan or a Medicare Part D drug plan you will need to switch plans (even if he stays with the same company) because those plans are state and/or county specific and he cannot keep those plans after moving. He has two months after his move to switch.
