Forest Park
How do I get from Forest Park, IL o Marengo IL on public trans (Pace & Metra)?
I need detailed directions on how to get from Forest Park, IL (I290 and Des Plaines Ave.) to Marengo, IL. I do not drive and need to take Pace and Metra. Can someone come up with a plan for a Saturday morning?
The problem is... that I cannot find a bus service to Marengo from the METRA stations.
You can go to Woodstock METRA station on the Union Pacific Northwestern Line or Elgin on the Milwaukee District West Line and after you will need to take a taxi from there (Woodstock is near of Marengo than Elgin).
Train station for Forest Park is Elmwood Park on the METRA Milwaukee District West Line. The station is located at Marwood Drive and N75th Ct. http://metrarail.com/Sched/md_w/elmwood_park.shtml
From there you can take a train to Elgin (there are three trains in the morning, trip takes around 55 min) or a train to Union Station to transfer to the Northwestern line (trip to Union around 26 min).

From Union Station you need to transfer to the Ogilvie Transportation Center http://metrarail.com/Sched/cnw_nw/chicago_ogilvie.shtml that is only one block apart. From there, take a train to Woodstock station, on the METRA Union Pacific North Western line. Trip from Ogilvie to Woodstock takes 1h 30 min, and there are only two trains in the morning.
