help with airline tickets.me and about 20 friends are planning to go to new york city for spring break?

i wanted to know how soon we should have buy the tickets round trip and get them cheaper, which airline would give the cheapest flight.any group discounts, or flights that include the hotel and maybe the food. the best deal economical please. we don't mind sleeping in the same hotel all of us it would be fun actually, and we can save money on that too. i also heard that if you have multiple stops to get to your destination it is cheaper.
we want to depart from Lax airport(los Angele's california) and arrive at JFK airport in new york.or another new york airport that is closer to new york city. because i honestly don't know where jfk airport is at.(one of my friend suggested that)
right now we are all 17 but by the time we go we will all be 18. please help, 1st time doing this and i dont know where to start my research. thank you and sorry for the long read.
Your biggest problem will be finding a place to stay. Hotels aren't going to want to rent to a teen-aged "mob".
You can easily find info about any travel destination by using the Internet or your library. There are many, many guidebooks and travel websites just full of info. If you don't even know which airport to use, then you've got lots of research to do. JFK is the most likely one, traveling from CA, but there's also Newark and Laguardia.
