Saugerties Ny York
New York, where should I move? I live in Albany County now want to stay within a few hours by car.?
I currently live in Cohoes (10 minutes north of Albany). The cost of living is soaring - housing, gas (! Course) and food are all being very expensive. I'm having a hard time finding even a subordinate. I am very outdoorsy and have many hikes or kayaking opportunities here. I'd love to live in a city where I could get rid of my car, but it is not an absolute necessity. I would like go somewhere with like-minded people who, overall, are progressive, environmentally conscious, intelligent, and have the same interests artsy / outdoorsy. I grew up in the country, so if I could find a place to live that is reasonably priced (about $ 750 or less for BR apt.) Close or in the middle of woodland, which has at least a few job opportunities, I would be happy as a clam! A place that I consider is strongly Ulster County - Woodstock, Saugerties, Kingston and New Paltz area. Any ideas?
Check Ithaca. It is in the Finger Lakes region, but absolutely beautiful .... very progressive and a lot of parks for hiking / biking. It's a college town (Ithaca College and the University Cornell), but really different and cultural. You could probably bike around, but there are many hills. There is a mall about 5-10 minutes (by car). We Looks like you'd be a perfect fit.
