Graphic Designers - I was asked to make a postcard...where do I find an image that can be printed?
I was asked to make a postcard for an international company.
I need a few photos to put on the postcard - ones that are generic, crisp, and of people/things...
Is it illegal to pull a picture from google, use it on the postcard and have that postcard distrubuted to hundreds and thousands of people?
Where would I go about finding/purchasing (?) these pictures if I can't just google image them?
I hope I don't sound all silly -- I'm just trying to figure out what's okay and what's not ok in terms of using an image online on printed materials for a high-profile company.
Any/all help is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
Best place i can guide you to is a Hungary based stock image site which has a large array of images to be used royalty free for commercial (and private) use. Check out the agreements with the pictures, most allow free use as long as your not defacing, reselling or using them in an illegal act.

There are of course many other sites such as istock and shutterstock, basically the same thing. Only you pay for the image and the rights.

Grabbing images from Google is very risky if you don't know where your image came from. It is best to get your images from places where you know its safe and the images are at least under public domain.
