My walls are creamy yellow butter, and I decided to add accessories black and white?
What fabric / color should I use with which to upholster my sofa? What kind of coffee table should I buy? I would be in the mood for a spa on Park Ave. with vintage elements, although this is my apartment.
Ballard Designs and Brocade have catalogs with thousands of products that would work and ideas really cute. (They have websites, too.) Overstock.com has often unique pieces as well. All these sites have furniture (sofas, tables, etc.) and as accessories. Macy's has good tables and sofa options - even for use as an idea to take a local furniture store. www.brocadehome.com www.ballarddesigns.com www.macys.com www.overstock.com If you want to add "color" you can still submit sage green, or red wine to the mixture. They all go well with black and white, too. A sofa is a nice simple black base - You can add pillows / throws in colors to highlight. There are also unique models - black and white or scroll fleur de lis print, print, or small diamond. Jacquard fabric is nice, too (where you have one, for example, Black on black or white on white). Even a small diamond quilted look can be elegant and sophisticated - just go looking and see what is in your price range and what you can get in a fabric you like. If you have pets, you want something that does not have pet hair, too. Regarding tables go, it really depends on your space. It may be advantageous to find a table that offers additional storage (think table cube as the roof open for storage and they split for booster seats, or a large ottoman that opens for storage, and coordinate with your sofa it can also be used for seats).
