Museum Postcard
Who might be interested in items of social historical interest?
I have inherited a large suitcase full of many items of social historical interest from 1930s - 1970s (mostly WW2). Most of it is photographs, postcards, books, magazines, etc.
I don't necessarily want to gain financially from it, but I don't have the space to store it anywhere. I also have no idea who or what organisations might be interested in it, either as a donation or as a purchase, and I REALLY don't want to just throw it away.
Anyone have any ideas, preferably a little more specific than "a museum".
If you want to give it away the Imperial War Museum would definitely like a look at the WW2 stuff & perhaps the V&A for the other stuff.As an alternative you could try a local antiques fair or similar Specialist postcard etc. dealers often have stalls there and are bound to be interested.
