is it not normal for me to be doing this?
i used to live in new england and have lived in boston and california for 7 years now. in the past couple years i have become obsessed with the places i knew as a kid. like places i used to vacation at ... a dumpy motel we used to stay at frequently while on vacation ... a restaurant my family used to eat at regularly when i was a little kid.
i collect postcards and memorabilia from these places and look for pictures of them online. i sometimes get urges to fly 3,000 miles from CA just to go visit all these places i knew as a kid. and until i go it bothers me.
i usually end up going back to these places only to have them let me down because they have changed or otherwise aren't how i remember them.
what would be causing this obsession???
Yours is not an obsession,your is called Nostalgia,and is quiet normal for you to feel this way.I too feel the same way,I don't live where I was born,but I always think where I grew up,I too usually end up going back to these places only to have them let me down because they have changed or they aren't how i remember them.
Nostalgia can be:
