Lexington, Kentucky?

My girlfriends and I are planning a weekend getaway, and Lexington would be just about smack dab in between us, allthough it is still going to be around a 5 hour drive for any of us. None of us are into horses and horse races, we are all between 24 & 26, all of us with kids and either husbands of fiances. What are some things for us to do while we are there. Sights to see, places to go??

If you're not into horses, it's going to be hard. You may end up staying in Lexington but going out to surrounding areas for things to do. Will also depend on when you are wanting to get together. Here are a few ideas:

Historic homes throughout the Lexington regional area.
Crafts in Berea.
Shakertown in Harrodsburg.
Ft. Boonesborough on the river in Richmond.
Dixie River Boat in Harrodsburg.
Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles.
Antiques in Midway.
Toyota Plant in Georgetown.
Lexington Children's Museum.
Lexington Legends (minor league baseball).
Raven Run Park, McConnell Springs, or UK Arboretum for nature.
Depending on your kids ages, and the time of year you come, you could do breakfast at Keeneland and see some horse stuff without doing some big tour and spending money on races.

UK Football or Basketball tickets are hard to get. The city is packed during home games, I'd avoid coming on those weekends. It will also be a little more crowded during the Spring and Fall Race Meets at Keeneland.
