Stalin's rise to project power .. Helppi!?
My mission is to write a postcard to my teacher, as if I there when Stalin took power. Any suggestions on what I should write? Good answers are greatly appreciated thankss: D btw it a side project to keep things simple, but good:)
The difficulty you face is that he was a relative unknown in circles outside the Kremlin's policy, until Lenin's death in 1924. The other problem you face is just how your teacher know, for example, many people think that Stalin came to power when Lenin died, if your teacher thinks that, then your postcard could be about This strange person, you had not heard, who speaks with a heavy Georgian accent. If your teacher is more knowledgeable, then you might describe the machinations policies that Stalin used to gain power - how he played his rivals against each other, allowing others to do his dirty work for him - Until it is strong enough to completely reverse its rivals - most historians this was the end of 1928 or early 1929 - some say 1936 to 1937, when he was able to stop and perform many of its rivals. Here is a brief account of how he came to power: Stalin was a very cunning manipulator. Lenin had entrusted him with several items that were apparently of little importance. Party General Secretary, for example. Stalin used this position to control who was in - or out of the party. Stalin then assured that "his" people loyal to him because they wanted to keep their jobs - which he did by collecting information about everyone in the party. After Lenin's death Stalin was any too clever. He left the other Politburo members present policies, and support them. The Politburo shot himself in the foot with the policy of democratic centralism - basically, this meant that once the Politburo discussed a problem and decided on a policy - it there would be no more debate on this issue. Stalin and allow everyone to discuss programs and problems - he then sided with the team winner and the losers isolated. He repeated this - a lot of insulation Old Revolutionary Guard - until he was confident of success in the removal, the arrest, exile and murder. Policy of democratic centralism: 1917 Becomes Sec Gen of the CPSU: 1922, Lenin died: 1924 Remove Left Opposition (Zinoviev and Kamenev) - 1927 removes the right-wing opposition (Rykov and Bukharin) - 1929 Became leader of the USSR - 1929 (maybe) You must include the phrase "the gray blur" - as described Bolshevik leader Stalin during the October Revolution
