Does anyone know any think about the city of Altoona, Pennsylvania.?
I hope one of you because I am doing research on it but I find nothing on her. I am writing a short story and I wanted to write a paragraph about Altoona, Pennsylvania. I need things like the height is their crime rate and the city is calm and if you can give me some more information. I can take that too.
Altoona is a city in Blair County, Pennsylvania. The population was 49,523 at the 2000 census. Altoona's population was estimated at 125,527 in 2007 by United States Census. According to the 2000 census, there were 49,523 people, 20,059 households and 12,576 families residing in the city. The median income for a household in the city was $ 28,248, and the median income for a family was $ 36,758. Males had a median income of $ 28,851 against $ 21,242 for females. Income per capita for the city was $ 15,213. About 12.9% of families and 17.7% of the population lives below the poverty line, including 24.1% of those under 18 years and 9.0% of those aged 65 years or more. Having grown up around the railroad industry, the city is working to recover against industrial decline and urban decentralization over the past decades. The city is home to the Altoona Curve baseball team League Double-A Eastern, which is the double A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. It also houses the 75 + years old Altoona Symphony Orchestra, [1] edited by Teresa Cheung. Among the major monuments of the Horseshoe Curve, the Railroaders Memorial Museum, the Mishler Theatre, the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, and the mosque Jaffa. In 2006, the city crime index 324.7. The index averaged 323.2 U.S. crime. There were 0 murders, 32 rapes, 84 robberies, 129 assault, burglary 439, 976 thefts, 87 auto thefts and 23 counts of arson.
