Bennington Vermont
What, in addition to ACT scores and my GPA should I go to university?
My dream school is Bennington College, Vermont. In fact, they do not require ACT scores. I did not get my act yet. If my score is close at school, I'll present. Otherwise, I do not want. My GPA is 3.4. What should I do to enter??
I am somewhat familiar with Bennington ... one thing you really need to do is to get recommendations. Teachers, club advisors, coaches, etc. Recommendations are generally on a rather high at liberal arts colleges - as are the college tests. In your essay, admissions counselors see why you would be a good addition to school. Talk about what you love and what makes you unique. Avoid writing about a family member who was ill / died or some sort of mission trip to a place favored (these topics are very overused, will widen the admission counselors, and show that you are unique). Get more persons to review your essay. Be sure to list all your extracurricular activities and demonstrate leadership roles that you in high school. Bennington is a small school. It guarantees nothing, but it might help to contact the school. An email admissions counselor about AP credits, ask them for campus visits, etc.. As I said, it may not influence your chances of admission, but if you contact them several times and show interest in school, they might remember, when it comes time to apply. I do not know what else .. Good luck! * Oh, I forgot to summer camp or youth camp, things career exploration site on campus for high school students. You may want to look at that too.
