Beach Lake
is there a beach at lake charles, LA?
My family and i are headed to lake charles tomorrow, and were wondering if there is a beach at lake charles that we could let the kids play in the sand and go swimming in.
It seems that there is a beach of sorts (called Sandbeach). Did see that they have city canoe trails - might be worth looking into rentals.

"I'll second the fact that Lake Charles has great people and good food. My mother's family is from there. But I have to agree also, that the beach is not exactly paradise. It's pretty surrounded by highyways and industrial plants. Not ALL of it, but enough.
I know you can sail and water ski without trouble, it's just not scenic. Parts of the residential area around the lake are nice and away from the interstate".
